The AVS Michigan Chapter’s 2025 Spring Symposium will discuss cutting-edge research in vacuum science with an emphasis on materials for the emerging areas of quantum computing, sensing and communications, including topological superconductivity in Josephson Junctions, multidimensional coherent spectroscopy and chemical vapor growth of layered hybrid semiconductors. Speakers will explore the fundamental material, device, and interconnect research driving these advancements and examine the role of vacuum science, nanofabrication, and advanced manufacturing in enabling the fabrication of emerging devices and systems.
This year’s speakers include:
- Alex Burgers, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), University of Michigan
- Alex Matos Abiague, Associate Professor, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Wayne State University
- Steve Cundiff, Harrison M. Randall Collegiate Professor of Physics, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), University of Michigan
- Selvan Demir, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Michigan State University
- Seokhyoung Kim, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Michigan State University
- Tatjana Stone, Applications Specialist, Angstrom Engineering
